Airbnb Turnover Cleaning Checklist

Before the clean begins

Confirm the checkout and check-in window, access instructions, linen plan and any guest-reported issues. A short message from the host can prevent lost time and help the cleaner prioritise urgent tasks.

• Open curtains and ventilate where appropriate
• Check for left belongings before removing rubbish
• Photograph and report obvious damage or maintenance concerns
• Gather used linen and start the agreed laundry process

Kitchen reset

Guests notice kitchens quickly. Clear food left under the host’s policy, clean and dry accessible benches and sinks, wipe splashbacks and appliance exteriors, check the microwave, empty bins and inspect crockery for obvious residue.

• Clean benches, sink, taps and splashback
• Wipe appliance exteriors and high-touch handles
• Check essential inventory and agreed consumables
• Vacuum and mop the floor last

Bathroom standard

The bathroom should look dry, polished and intentionally prepared. Clean the shower, bath, vanity, mirror and toilet; remove hair; replace agreed amenities; and present fresh towels consistently.

• Remove hair from drains and floors
• Polish mirrors and visible fittings
• Check toilet paper and agreed toiletries
• Use a final dry cloth on water-marked surfaces

Bedrooms and living spaces

Strip and remake beds using the host’s linen system. Dust accessible surfaces, check under beds and furniture edges, reset cushions, remove cobwebs and vacuum carefully. The final room should match the property photos as closely as practical.

• Use the same bed and cushion presentation each stay
• Check wardrobes and drawers included in the turnover scope
• Test visible lamps and report failed globes
• Complete a final walk-through from a guest’s viewpoint

Build a repeatable system

Keep the checklist property-specific. Record where linen, supplies and keys belong, define photo expectations and note surfaces needing special products. A repeatable system reduces uncertainty and makes quality easier to maintain.
